The girl who became a goddess.

Have you ever seen a god? Someone masquerading as a mortal? Not the type of perfect beings of monotheist religions nowadays, but the more susceptible gods and goddesses of the polytheistic faiths.

These people seemed to embody a particular trait, their every action and appearance something to behold and admire. However, they had their faults too. Much like the old greek heroes of old, they all had a fatal flaw in character. Flaws which made them life-like and believable.

Like Achilles, who was immortal save for his vulnerable heel, these people seemed to be almost perfect, exuding an aura of perfection. However, underneath this facade of divinity. there exists a flaw in character, it might be major, it might be minor but it will be something only people close enough to them will find out about.

These people were also mysterious. Their thoughts and intents were incomprehensible and their actions seemed to be aimless. This certainly adds to their air of holiness and our inability to understand people like this give them a unique appeal.

The interesting thing is people like this exist all around us. From the celebrities you see on TV, to that particularly popular girl in school, anyone could be a god/goddess to anyone else. Its the perception you associate with the person that elevate them to the level of a god.

When you meet people like this, there might be an intense feeling of attraction at first, but you will soon find out that they are usually out of reach. They are on a completely different level of conciousness, one where you will never be able to understand or accept.

These people, should only be admired from far, you follow them on facebook, and twitter, and instagram, you like their every post and check-in, you comment occasionally on posts you resonate with but to them, you will always remain an afterthought. Nothing more than one of their several hundred faceless fans. No one important or even remotely essential in their life.
